Anna Silver has extensive experience as an insolvency practitioner and advisor, providing guidance to stakeholders of distressed businesses; both from the early signs of difficulties, where options analysis may show that the business could be rescued through a restructuring, to the latter stages of distress, where voluntary liquidations may be used to realise value for stakeholders, and to circumstances that may necessitate a hostile enforcement through receivership or court liquidation where creditors also have interests that require protection.
With over 15 years working across a wide range of industries and jurisdictions, Anna is highly experienced dealing with a variety of restructuring and insolvency procedures. She has practical experience leading assignments involving offshore and onshore structures, as well as complex jurisdictions such as the Middle East, Russia and Eastern Europe.
Prior to moving offshore, Anna worked at independent boutique firms across the UK with experience in the Scottish oil and gas market and the UK high street retail and leisure industries leading trading administrations and Company Voluntary Arrangements.
Anna has also provided advisory services to other fiduciaries including the Trustees of the T&N Asbestos Trust by providing financial analysis and forecasting. Following the completion of her Joint Board Insolvency studies, Anna turned her attention to complex and cross-border matters, which had become more prevalent in her portfolio of cases over the recent years, due to her ability to lead and motivate a team, achieving positive results and meeting clients’ needs.
The exposure and interest in cross-border work, as well as a general interest in law and jurisprudence, led Anna to Nottingham Trent University and a post-graduate diploma in international insolvency law, which she completed – with distinction – in 2016.
Anna holds a BA Hons degree in Law and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. She is a qualified charted accountant and insolvency practitioner in the UK. Anna is a member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association and an experienced BVI insolvency license holder.
