Hadley Chilton is an insolvency practitioner and independent director, specialising in dispute resolution solutions and board-level governance to companies, partnerships, trusts and other financial structures.
He has substantial financial services experience, including insolvency, fraud investigation and asset recovery in the Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands
Prior to moving offshore in 2005, Hadley worked in insolvency for a leading firm in the UK and in the global corporate treasury department of a large multinational.
His recent appointments include acting as receiver of shares and custodian of assets in high value cross- border disputes; a replacement director in distressed companies to investigate Ponzi schemes and recover assets; as Court-appointed liquidator to hedge funds with high value litigation to retrieve assets amid regulatory enforcement action in multiple jurisdictions; and as liquidator to Caribbean hotel and real estate companies.
Hadley has been involved in many high profile cases in BVI and Cayman involving hedge funds, large corporations, HNW family offices and family owned businesses and has managed a wide range of assets and multi-jurisdictional litigation.
He is highly regarded for providing board-level guidance on offshore and onshore corporate governance issues and acts as an independent fiduciary in situations of family and joint venture conflict. His robust and solution-driven approach has enabled successful dispute resolution and asset recovery in unlikely circumstances.
Hadley has also managed restructuring, re-domiciling and voluntary liquidations for multinational companies and for HNW individuals, including de-enveloping properties.
A chartered accountant and BVI licensed insolvency practitioner, he is a Board member of the Recovery and Insolvency Specialists Association (BVI), a member of INSOL International and the American Bankruptcy Institute, regularly chairing panels at industry events.
