Ettiene is an experienced restructuring, corporate rescue and insolvency professional, with a demonstrated history of working in a variety of capacities dealing with a range of asset classes in the financial services industry.
Before joining FFP, he founded one of the leading Debt Counselling companies in South-Africa, providing Debt Management, Debt Review, Business Rescue & Restructuring services. Ettiene was actively involved with the executive management and development of that company. He has significant experience in Banking Law, Commercial Law, Business Rescue, Debt Restructuring, Debt Review, Credit, Finance, Insurance and Insolvency.
His career boasts a passion for growing businesses through building, nurturing and leading strong teams. Developing and implementing strategy, legal and corporate governance, program and project management, business transformation and change management.
Ettiene acted for United States Trustees in bankruptcy proceedings to secure assets located in South Africa. Represented major South African business institutions in various matters in liquidation and business rescue matters, including insolvency interrogations and strategy planning to assist Directors. Representing global companies in the restructuring options available to it in various other African jurisdictions.
Ettiene has served as a steering committee member providing input and advice to National Credit Regulator on legislative amendments in the financial sector, in South Africa.
Following a relocation to the British Virgin Islands, Ettiene joins the BVI office of FFP to work in the insolvency and the corporate departments. He has a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of South Africa. Ettiene is also a member of The South African Restructuring and Insolvency Practitioners Association NPC (SARIPA).
