Governance

Independent Directorships
An alternative for investors, funds and managers

The alternative investment industry’s philosophy regarding governance has evolved over the past few years and enhanced governance is now demanded by those involved in the industry. Increased regulatory oversight of directors’ duties and debates over the volume of funds an independent director has capacity to oversee, and whether they are truly free from conflicts of interest, has focused the approach of investors and managers to those charged with fund governance.

The directors of FFP only take on a small number of directorships, recognising that the services and advice provided are substantially dictated by our biggest constraint – which is time. We are independently owned and managed. We have no conflicts of interest. We take a leading role in helping formulate leading governance procedures in conjunction with the investors, investment manager, counsel and other service providers. We are frequently engaged to deal with the emergence or aftermath of a crisis, when governance has failed. Our background and experience of dealing with difficult situations together with a proven record of safeguarding investor interests, allows us to deliver governance from a truly independent and best practice point of view. FFP also offer replacement Registered Office and Secretarial services to clients.
