Mike Parkinson

Mike Parkinson has over 30 years’ experience in the offshore sector, joining FFP in 2016, having been admitted to the bar in the Cayman Islands in 1985, and also practising in California as well as England and Wales.

As a lawyer in private practice in the Cayman Islands between 1985 and 1998, he specialised in financial services with a litigation bias, advising international clients, professional trustees and investment funds.

He was engaged by CLT International on behalf of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) to establish their international trust practitioners’ global training programme and has written a series of five text books on trusts and trust administration which are used exclusively on the STEP Trusts programme. Mike has also written extensively on the topics of international structures and co-authored a two-volume work on hedge funds and fund administration.

Over the last 15 years, Mike has been engaged by a number of offshore trust companies to train staff and evaluate their expertise to ensure they meet international standards. He is a member of STEP and a well-known trust industry expert.
