Mike joined Fund Fiduciary Partners in March 2016. He has over 30 years’ experience in the offshore financial services industry, having been admitted to the bar as an Attorney-at-Law in the Cayman Islands in 1985. He is also admitted to the bar as an Attorney-at-Law in California and is a Solicitor in England and Wales.
Mike practiced as a lawyer in private practice in the Cayman Islands between 1985 and 1998 in the field of financial services with a litigation bias, advising international clients, professional trustees and investment funds.
In 1999, Mike was engaged by CLT International on behalf of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) to establish their international trust practitioners’ global training programme. He has written a series of five text books on trusts and trust administration which are used exclusively on the STEP trusts programme. He has also written extensively on the topics of international structures and co-authored a two-volume work on hedge funds and fund administration.
Over the last decade and a half Mike has been engaged by a number of offshore trust companies (from members of global banking institutions to small, boutique, independent firms) to train staff and evaluate their expertise in order to establish that they meet international standards. He is a member of STEP and a well-known trust industry expert.
